The swing arm structure is an important component of the LED chip sorting mechanism, which has a significant influence on the sorting mechanism separation efficiency and working stability. During the working state of high frequency separation, the reciprocating motion of the arm swing will cause vibration of its own, resulting in the decrease of separation efficiency, which even cause fatigue damage, so it needs lightweight design. However, designers nowadays seldom consider fatigue damage factors in the process of swing arm lightweight design, thus that leading to the final design results can’t be put into the actual production. Therefore, we not only need to meet the static strength conditions in the process of the ligh tweight design of the swing arm, but also need to ensure the fatigue life of the structure.This paper is based on the LED sorti ng mechanism of a Shenzhen semiconductor packaging company detection as the object of study to launch the work of analysis and optimization. The main work includes the following three aspects :(1) CAE analysis of swing arm structure. Analyze the principle of LED chip sorting mechanism, pointing out that the main factor that affects the separation performance is the swing arm. Do the static analysis, modal analysis of the swing arm, analyzing its strength and stiffness and natural frequency, to examine the optimization space of original organization.(2) Dynamic simulation analysis. Build the multi rigid body dynamics simulation model according to the structural relationship between the major components of the sorting mechanism. Next, in order to simulate the actual vibration of the sprue components in practical high speed sorting process, build a sorting mechanism of rigid flexible coupling model through of flexible swing arm.This highlight the necessity of flexible on the swing arm, and prepare for the optimization of the follow-up work.(3) Lightweight design of swing arm based on fatigue life constraint. Simulate and calculate the fatigue life using the fatigue life analysis software, and select appropriate optimization variables through analysis on the fatigue life sensitivity, and under the prerequisite to meet the life needs of swing arm for optimization design.The way of swing arm lightweight design considering the fatigue life, which more fitting the actual work condition, and it will provide a reasonable and feasible solution for theoretical analysis and practical engineering production closely combine.
