Design Of Broadband Multi-channel Amplitude&Phase Receiver

Along with the rapid development of wireless communication, RF receiver has played an increasingly important role in radar, communications, instrument measurement and other fields. This paper designs a broadband dual channel receiver based on the antenna measuring system. The main contents are as follows:1. Set the specifications of the receiver. The paper simply introduces the researching background of receiver and the researching status and development trends of receiver technology domestic and abroad. Also, the basic knowledge of antenna measurement and the specifications of receiver are introduced. The specifications of the receiver are set according to the requirements of the antenna measuring system.2. Plan the designing scheme of the receiver. The frequency planning and circuit structure are determined according to the specifications of the system. The receiver operates from 300 MHz to 15 GHz, the broadband RF front end is divided into three sections using RF switches. And the receiver converts RF frequency to the designated IF frequency 10.7 MHz using one mixer. Also, the link budget and component selection are done in this section.3. Assess the key components of the circuits. Assessments of unit circuits are done according to the selected components and the planned circuit structure. The performance of all important components are strictly verified to ensure that they can be used in the design of the system circuit.4. Design and test the broadband dual channel receiver. The whole circuits of the receiver are developed according to the results of the assessments of unit circuits. During the testing and debugging process, an automatic measuring platform based on Labview of NI company is built to test efficiently and accurately. The testing results of the receiver meet the requirements of the antenna measuring system.Not only can the receiver be successfully used in the antenna measuring system, but also in channel measurement of wireless communication system, the area of remote sensing and so on. There is a wide application prospect of the designed broadband dual channel receiver.
