With development of the wireless communication, the mobile terminals have already developed into the personally intelligent equipments. For the RF front-end, more miniaturization, the access to multi-standards, lower cost and higher performance are required. As a promising solution of high integration, the antenna-in-package has been paid more attentions. Also, the broadband and multi-band front-end is required. In this thesis, the differential dual-band antenna-in-package and broadband receiver is studied. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the statuses of the differential dual-band antenna in wireless communications, several important parameters and numerical analysis method are presented. Meanwhile, typical structures and technical specifications of receiver are introduced.Secondly, a differential dual-band antenna-in-package (AiP) with multi-layer structure is proposed. Compared with the normal antenna, the introduced package structure changes the impedance of the antenna that the new resonant frequency is excited and a dual-band antenna is realized. Also, in order to improve the radiation pattern in higher band, two symmetrical T-shaped slots are etched on patch. The T-slots can help to widen the bandwidths. The realized AiP can work at2.49GHz and5.8GHz. The10dB relative bandwidth is1.61%(2.47GHz~2.51GHz) and5.51%(5.67GHz ~5.99GHz), respectively. Good agreement between the measured and simulated results has been achieved.At last, a broadband receiver with Zero-IF structure is designed. The function of demodulation, filtering and amplification are realized by LT5575and LT6600-20. The realized receiver can demodulate the signal from1.5GHz to2.7GHz. Moreover, the bandwidth of demodulation signal is20MHz. The gain of realized receiver is around13dB and the minimum power what can be received is-25dBm. Meanwhile, the signal of GSM is used to test the performance of receiver. The realized receiver shows the good performance. So the receiver can be well applied in communication system.
