With the wide application of 4th generation mobile communication technology, the fifth generation mobile communication has been put forward and studied, the kinds of mobile service and the number of the mobile users increase. people have higher requirements for the quality and speed of communication. In order to meet the needs of a variety of communication services, the antenna base station system continuously toward the broadband, multi polarization and multi frequency direction, but also requires the base station antenna has good unidirectional radiation Characteristics and stable gain across the entire operating bandwidth. In this paper, The author focus on the design and application of the dipole antenna for the development of wireless communication technology. The main research of this paper includes:1. Design of a feed improved type magneto-electric dipole antenna and a magneto-electric dipole antenna patch level improved. Two improved antenna are studied in the design of magneto-electric dipole antenna was proposed by Professor Luk on the basis of. The first improved antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwith of 59.5%(VSWR<2) from the frequency of 1.65 GHz to 3.05 GHz, and an antenna gain of 7.9 dB to 10.5 dB. The second improved antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwith of 78.2%(VSWR<2) from the frequency of 1.4GHz to 3.2 GHz, in the entire operating band, the average gain of the antenna is 6.9 dB. The two antennas both have low backlobe radiation and low cross polarization, good unidirectional radiation characteristics acoss the entire frequency, and the nearly identical E-and H-plane patterns.2. Design a F-bowtie dipole printed antenna, the proposed antenna is etched on two assembled substrates,with low profile, easy to manufacture. The antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwith of 56.7%(VSWR<2) from the frequency of 1.97 GHz to 3.53 GHz, and the gain is 8.24 dB to 3.29 dB in the whole operating frequency band, which has good unidirectional radiation characteristics.3.Based on the F-bowtie dipole antenna, a dual polarized printed dipole antenna proposed. Simulated results show that the dual polarized printed dipole antenna achieved a wide impedance bandwith of 44.9%(VSWR≤1.5) from the frequency of 2 GHz to 3.12 GHz in two polarization directions. The isolation degree is below -25dB, and the peak gain in the two polarization direction is up to 9dB and 9.39dB.
