A Decade Of Analysis Of Sports Tourism Literature About《Journal Of Sport & Tourism》(2004-2014)

In recent years, with the development of sports tourism industry in full swing, sports tourism has become a hot topic in academia. Sports tourism theoretical system is gradually formed. At present, almost China’s sports tourism research was published in Chinese sports journals, such as core journals of sports institutions, etc. Sometimes only a few sports tourism articles were published in the professional tourism journals.Our country has no special sports tourism journal which can serve Chinese scholars to show the scientific achievements in sports tourism. In contrast to foreign countries, sports tourism research can be published in special, professional tourism journals like <Annals of Tourism Research>&<Tourism Management>. Meanwhile abroad have sports tourism research magazine<Journal of Sport & Tourism>.In this study, based on the use of literature, comparative analysis and mathematical statistics, the content analysis coding table was established. The results showed that in the case of the basic aspects of literature, 2004-2014 <Journal of Sport &Tourism> has a larger literature reference and research value; The literature showed a slow growth trend; The Americas, Europe and Oceania region is mainly distributed literature researchers but less in Africa and Asia; Almostly, the authors’ professional background is physical education which followed by the tourism research and management; The most common type of cooperation is the 2 co-authored; In terms of research topics, literature research focus on the theme of sports tourism behavior,Sports tourism destination planning and marketing; As a result, the theme of sustainable development of sports tourism, sports tourism risk perception, sports tourism safety management, sports tourism environment will become the next hot topics. The document study design type mainly combines research and indirect research literature; Substantially, thesis uses qualitative and quantitative analysis method of combining analysis; The most common method is specific questionnairestudy, and mostly using descriptive statistics; Data analysis focused on the combination of the two methods or models.This study also provides implications and suggestions. Firstly, the researchers of sports tourism should communicate with international counterparts and participate in professional meetings abroad actively to seek opportunities for cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutions; Universities should break the domestic research mode alone, and also involved in international research atmosphere actively.Secondly, we must focus on training young members of Humanities and Social Sciences Research Groups in Physical Education University which has management,economics, sociology, psychology or anthropology professional background; The young members should better have sports and tourism research experiences.While conducting exchanges and cooperation with domestic science and engineering or comprehensive college aims to strengthen interdisciplinary research efforts to promote integrated development of different discipline. Thirdly, the changing and growing consumer demand of sports tourism must be fully considered; the domestic scholars also need to devote more research efforts to the two following themes which includes the relationship between sports and tourism economy, as well as the impact on the ecological environment of sports tourism. Fourthly, it is necessary that the researchers or scholars should master different approaches and improve the ability to use a variety of research methods to solve problems in different sports tourism research.
