It is widely known that the data of the normal memory will be lost when the system power shut down. As a result some data and document which did not catch to store in the hard driver will be lost too. All the achievement which finished before has gone and need to restart again. Consequently, it is quite essential to design another type of memory to solve the data losing issue. In order to solve the data losing issue, the system should still have power supply and continue to work when system power gets fault. However the normal backup power only can support in a limited time. The data of the memory can not be kept forever. It is necessary to design non-volatile memory system which could transfer the data of SDRAM to some non-volatile chips and restore the data when power comes back. Such system only needs power supply in a short time but the data can be kept forever. The thesis introduces the foundation knowledge of developing the Non-Volatile Dual In-Line Memory Module which including the variety and development of dynamic random access memory, the variety and the international standard of NAND flash and the charging and discharging character ot super capacitor. By research and analysis of the foundation knowledge, finally we accomplish the NVDIMM-bascd memory system. It is composed of four parts including the random access memory, the NAND flash, the Super capacitor and micro processor. The non-volatile memory behaves as the common memory in normal condition. It not only inherits some characters of the normal memory, such as fast and random access but also it implements other new function. It can transfer the data in the SDRAM to the NAND FLASH in a few second with the power of the super capacitor. At the same time, it can restore the date to the SDRAM when the power comes back. The memory restores the status when the power shut down and continues to run again. It achieves the purpose to save the data when power off.The thesis mainly introduces how to design the super cap module, upgrade module, backup and restore module. At last it verifies the correctness of the designed modules by testing and recording many data which makes sure that the designed product achieves the purpose of non-volatile. It has more referential significance for the design of some similar products in the future.
