In recent years, along with the mobile hardware devices constantly updated and rapid development of Internet technology, online games based on mobile devices such as mobile phones, pads has become one of the fastest rising industries in entire national economy. Server is an important part of the mobile online games. It is also serving a large number of clients, processing the command messages from the clients. So it has a high requirement on the stability, real-time performance and efficiency. The problems caused by mobile devices, such as unreliable network, limited resources, multi-client versions, user fragmented and so on make it different from the traditional online game server. In order to provide excellent service quality, it is particularly important to design mobile online game server. Research on its key technologies has a positive meaning to the entire mobile online game industry’s development.This thesis referenced to the results of previous studies in terms of traditional online games server. First of all, it introduces the current mobile online game industry, focus on the analysis of the research trend of online game server and the development of architecture. Secondly, it expounds the server commonly used technology, including pre-allocated resources mechanism, network protocol, network communication, concurrent service strategy, etc. Thirdly, it makes analysis and comparison to the traditional server architecture, lists their advantages and disadvantages, and a new kind of high efficient and stable server architecture is designed by using the mature patterns and thought. Then describes the design thought and logical architecture, detailed introduces the functions of each server. Next combined with actual mobile online game project, according to the characteristics of the mobile devices, focus on research and analysis several key technologies of server design. Including data hierarchical caching mechanism, data synchronization method, mobile terminal weak network problems, how to choose the mode of network communication in key scene of the game and so on, and gives the corresponding solutions.Finally, combined with the actual project, the author has carried on the server’s performance test for the key scene of the game. The results show that the proposed server in the face of the actual scene is stable and efficient, and reaches the expected level. So research on key technology of mobile online game server is good materials for engineering reference to resolve primary problems in mobile online games server design.
