The narrow-band cluster technology is unable to handle the massive and diverse data, which is common in the mobile Internet era. In order to meet the demand of the private wireless network, a broadband multimedia cluster system based on TD-LTE is developed. Inheriting the advantages of LTE technology, the broadband multimedia cluster system satisfies the requirements of current private wireless network and is able to provide various forms of communication. To gradually realize this system, we firstly study the implementation of its TD-LTE protocol stack. This thesis studies the MAC layer protocol of TD-LTE protocol stack at base station side. Based on the protocol research and the demand of minimum prototype broadband multimedia cluster system, the MAC layer protocol software, which excluded the cluster function for now, is designed and implemented.First of all, the overall function of the MAC layer of TD-LTE base station side is analyzed. There is no detailed description about the MAC layer protocol of the base station side in the TD-LTE standard. So we design it based on the UE side protocol specifications and the implementation requirements of the PHY layer.Secondly, the MAC layer software architecture of the TD-LTE base station side is built. According to the implementation method of the state machine technology and the function design of the MAC layer, the MAC layer of the TD-LTE base station side is divided into four modules, which are respectively scheduling module, user management module, multiplexing and demultiplexing module and random access control module. After a series of elaborated function analysis and design for these modules, they can cover all the function requirements of the MAC layer of the base station side.Thirdly, the inter-layer and intra-layer interfaces are designed. In the user plane, in order to transmit and schedule the downlink and uplink data, it is necessary to design the interfaces between MAC layer and RLC layer and the interfaces between MAC layer and PHY layer. In the control plane, in addition to the RLC layer and PHY layer, the interfaces between RRC layer and MAC layer also need to be designed to transmit the RRC layer signaling. The modules communicate and cooperate with each other through internal to complete the execution of a process. Finally, the correctness of the realization of the base station side MAC layer protocol software’s function and business processing ability is verified. We set up the corresponding platform in different development phases, and make some tests for each module and the system respectively, and the results of the tests and the analysis are presented in the end.
