An Approach To Recognition Technique Of License Plates In Complicated Scenes

License Plate Recognition is one important constituent part of the Intelligence Transportation System(ITS), Especially its the license plate recognition in complex Scenes, It convers comprehensive applications and enjoy a great application perspective.With the increasing complexity of traffic environment, the current license plate recognition products cannot satisfy the user’s real-time requirement. So how to obtain the balance between accuracy and speed of license plate recognition in complex background is a hot topic in recent years, there are still many problems remain to be further explored and improved.This paper discusses the key algorithm in license plate recognition technology under complicated background. The main research results are as follows:1. The application of a kernel function based on the weighted fuzzy C-means clustering (KWFCM) algorithm for two-dimensional chromaticity histogram clustering. Proposes a separability criterion of the distance between within-class and between-class algorithm is used to analyze the clustering results, and it was judged brilliant or dim-light conditions when the image acquisition.2. Proposed a set of adaptive illumination classification algorithm, the algorithm will be combined with the clustering results of two-dimensional color histogram and a series of gray feature of the source image classification, and an improved feature set of fuzzy decision went to the a pseudo license plate algorithm to get a real license plate location.3. Proposed a series of improving measures to the car license plate character segmentation and recognition method. Select the weight vector of the support vector machine such as the traditional method of character recognition in the improvement. Carried on the analysis and the simulation to the classics division and the recognition algorithm, and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.The present study combines both theories and practice, and delves into the various key technology in the license plate recognition system under the complex contexts, and puts forward some new ideas and methods, the research of license plate character recognition technology has great significance and application value.
