Along with the progress and development of information science and technology, the emerging technological achievements are increasingly improving people’s living environment. In this information era, the digitization of exhibition halls where save the achievements and human wisdom of human civilization is also inevitable. So, the task to transform and build exhibition halls using advanced information technology is imminent. The cultural relics, book reservation and specimens in the exhibition hall have high requirements for the surrounding environmental parameters. Therefore the thesis designs a terminal measurement and control system based on Ethernet which is used to monitor the internal temperature, humidity of each booth and open/closed state of the showcase and the number of visitors in the exhibition hall. It makes that only one terminal equipment can monitor all the booths and it is convenient for exhibition hall managers to realize real-time measurement and control of entire state of the exhibition hall.The system works on an embedded Android platform with the capabilities in multiple data acquisition, data transmission using Ethernet, terminal display, data storage, data sharing and terminal control. It contains temperature measurement modules, humidity measurement modules, relay modules which can get booths’status data and uses a distribution structure based distributed structures of the exhibition hall.Then it transfers these data in a way of wired communication called RS485 to a terminal measurement and control extension. An application on the extension starts to collate, analysis and display the measured data. The extensions use TCP/IP protocol to send out the aggregated data via Ethernet to a terminal measurement and control host. An application on the host is designed to analysis, display, alarm, store the data. This will help the exhibition hall managers to judge or control downstream equipments based on the measured data, including opening or closing a showcase, or turning off a remote terminal measurement and control extension. It also helps exhibition hall managers by alarming abnormal data and remote detection of faulty equipments to locate the fault-sources accurately and brings convenient troubleshooting. Besides of this, the terminal measurement and control host is also equipped with a visitors flowrate detection module and its application to count and store the daily number of visitors. A Wi-Fi module interface is also set aside on the terminal measurement and control host in order to realize the connection between the system and the Internet so that the system can share the data.The main work done in this thesis is as following:1. Build the hardware platform of the measurement and control system, and complete the design and manufacture of the circuit board for each data acquisition module and write the relevant code to complete the debugging work. These data acquisition devices are numbered so that the terminal measurement and control host can locate and track the data and then realize the analysis of the state parameters of booths and the troubleshooting of the equipment.2. Build embedded Android software and hardware development environment, complete RS485 module driver for terminal measurement and control host and extension. The system equipped with measurement and control terminals can work away from PC to realize data acquisition, data display, data storage and sharing and remote control. Thus it will greatly reduce the cost of the system.3. Design a data-interchange format between data acquisition equipments and terminal measurement and control extensions. Build an Ethernet transport network to realize point to point communications between the measurement and control host and the measurement and control extension based on TCP/IP protocol in this local area network.4. Develope three applications running on the terminal measurement and control host and an application running on the terminal measurement and control extension for Human-Computer interaction. They are used to display and analyse and alarm and storage the data of temperature, humidity, state of the showcase and visitors flowrate. The terminal measurement and control host can set an alarm values of environmental parameters and detect abnormal equipments and open or close a showcase or turn off a terminal measurement and control extension remotely. The universal embedded Android platform which can be customized and mobile client softwares which have abundant function are used in the measurement and control system. It can easily work seamlessly with other systems to share the data.5. Test the functions of system, and propose some improved optimization ideas in data transfer and follow-up data management. This will be conducive to further enhance the reliability and flexibility of the system.The terminal measurement and control system for digital exhibition hall designed in the thesis offers users a simple, intuitive and diverse method of monitoring exhibition hall’s status. It enhances the human-computer interaction experience and improves the efficiency and accuracy of monitoring work for exhibition halls, and emancipates more human resources. This measurement and control system can not only be used in the exhibition hall, but alse be used in places with similar functional requirements by replacing the sensor modules to extend applications rapidly. Thus, the system has potential application value.
