The Improvement And Application Of The Website Development Method Based On Open Source Software

With the advantage of low cost, short cycle to develop, powerful function, superior performance and good scalability, open source software has been widely applied in the development of various sites in recent years. However, because of the lack of guidance of comprehensive development methods, its advantages have not been fully played.In order to spread Chinese culture, Chinese Culture Virtual Community has developed its homepage, blog, bbs and classified sites. However, the community still can’t support single sign-on and its homepage can’t integrate data and release information with low efficiency. It’s necessary to develop a portal to solve these problems.To solve these problems mentioned above, in this paper, combing with practice in website development, a comprehensive method of website development based on open source software is put forward through in-depth literature analysis. It describes the improved parts--the readjustment of unreasonable sequence of activities and steps, removing redundant steps, adding activities and steps, the optimization of open source software selection process, and so on. Then, based on the comprehensive development methods, Chinese Culture Virtual Community portal has been developed, mainly including analysis of open source software, propose the preliminary scheme of the system by referring to open source software, the feasibility study based on open-source software, the survey of information flow and functional analysis, investigation and analysis based on open source software, the selection of open source software, the selection of theme, the selection of plug-ins or third party software, programming of theme, programming of function module, the installation and configuration of PHPCMS, installation and configuration of plug-ins or third party software, etc.Currently, the portal has been officially launched, solving the problems in Chinese Culture Virtual Community, showing the effectiveness of comprehensive development method, and providing other websites development based on open source software with method guidance and practical reference.
