The Design And Implementation Of Attendance Management In The Smart Campus

With the continuous expansion of college enrollment and the school-running scale, and the emergence of multi-campus mode at the moment, many factors, such as the multi-campus distribution of personnel, installations and property and the mobility of teachers and students, has brought the difficulty for the management and service of the school. At the same time, with the development of the Internet of things technology and the application in the education industry, it is imperative to build a smart campus system which is based on Internet of things technology to efficient and systemic manage the campus.The smart campus system is an intelligent teaching, learning and living environment which is based on Internet of things technology, with a variety of application service systems as its carriers. It integrates teaching, scientific research, management and campus life as a whole.During my internship, I participated in the design and implementation of the smart campus management system for the Wenzhou Vocational Technical Secondary School in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. The smart campus management system mainly consists of 4 subsystems, namely, the energy management subsystem, the asset management subsystem, the smart home management subsystem and the attendance management subsystem. I participated in the project from requirements to design and implementation of the whole process, and independently completed the realization of attendance management subsystem. The attendance management subsystem is based on face recognition algorithm, mainly divided into the Web platform of attendance management system and the attendance management system client software which realized by C#. Web platform of attendance management system is developed on Yii framework of PHP. It contains the following modules:basic information management module, attendance information management module, SMS Management module and face recognition module. The attendance management system client is design for the system administrator to manage the connection of attendance machine and the system, monitor the running status of the attendance machine at real time, and complete the control of the automatic attendance process.After having been fulfilled the development preliminarily, the subsystem is in the phase of rehearsal and testing. The subsystem runs stably and normally,meets the needs of the information age. It has improved the management level and the quality of management, saved time and labor costs and met the basic requirement of the school Each module is scalable, and it is easy to upgrade and expand the system in the future. Each module has the scalability to upgrade and expand the system in the future.
