Rocky desertification refers to the process of land desertification under the tropical and subtropical fragile karst environment background.because of the natural evolution and human unreasonable social economic activities, causing the erosion of soil, loss of surface water, extensive exposing of bare rock, productivity of land degradation, It is an extreme form of land degradation.The dissertatio,using remote sensing technology and the various thematic maps,choosing the new phase of high resolution domestic and medium-high resolution GF-1 satellite data as the main source of information, combined with the laboratory study and field investigation, plots the result graph of rocky desertification information in the study area through to interpretation and the decision tree classification automatic extraction. The achievements in the remote sensing investigation as following:(1) The adequate preparation of Rocky desertification remote sensing investigation indoor has been done. Based on the existing data, combined with field investigation,relatively accurate interpretation signs of rocky desertification in work area have been established for interpretation.These signs include interpretation signs of light rocky desertification,moderate rocky desertification and severe rocky desertification.(2) On the basis of GF-1 remote sensing data, desertification information automatic extraction has been realized by using relatively accurate interpretation signs and mature method of rocky desertification extraction, by establishing the classification rules of different degrees of rocky desertification, extracted three different degrees of rocky desertification information, that is light rocky desertification, moderate rocky desertification and severe rocky desertification.(3) Analyzed and summarized the cause of Rocky desertification formation according to the present condition and the distribution characteristics of rocky desertification in yangshan. In addition,put forward suggestions for the management of rocky desertification.All the above research show that,the GF-1 remote sensing data has made use of the advantages of high spectral resolution and contains abundant information,which qualifies to meet the requirement of investigating the current situation of rocky desertification.Based on the research of the high resolution imagery in the study area, the more accurate rocky desertification information of Yangshan County has been obtained.By statistical, The research shows that the acreage of rocky desertification in Yangshan County 2014 year has reached 331km2.Due to the rocky desertification still a key factor to prevent the local social economic development.The local government and relevant departments still have a very long way to go to manage the rocky desertification.
