With the rapid development of modern wireless communication technique, the application of antenna has been widely used due mainly to the property of electromagnetic wave emission and reception, accordingly, there is a higher requirement of transmission performance. Shared-aperture antenna is a kind of antenna that allows multi-band and multi-polarization antennas work at the same time in the same aperture. By using proper layout of space, we can make full use of carrier space and reducing the electromagnetic coupling between different frequency antennas, consequently it is possible for antennas with different function to work independently. In the premise of unconspicuous increasing of size and weight shared-aperture can save the space greatly compared with playing multiple antennas separately. Therefore, it could be the main reason why the demand of shared-aperture antennas is increasing steadily in wireless communication system in recent years.Firstly, this essay expounds background of the application of shared-aperture antenna and research tendency. Then these antennas are classified into three aspects at base of basic structure, space form and operating principle, and some typical designs about these there aspects are given for the purpose of providing three basic designing theory.Secondly, this paper designed a Ku/S dual-band shared-aperture antenna. By selecting an high-frequency microstrip antenna unit which can realize circularly polarized radiation by means of single-feed, the feed network of array can be simplified, and the axial ratio of high frequency antenna array is improved by quaternion rotating of circular polarized antenna units. Low-frequency units apply T-shape power splitters to inspire two same-amplitude orthometric linear polarized waves whose phase difference is 90-degre, so that realize the circular polarization radiation. Low frequency array comes with two thin dielectric layers to meet the requirement of low profile to a certain extent. After producing, the antenna product was measured, and the test outcome conforms to the simulation result. Finally, this paper introduces the basic theory of compressed sensing, which aims achieving signal reconstruction by making an analysis for a small amount of measured value about sparse signal. And then this idea can be applied to the process of shared-aperture antenna array synthesis. We can use FOCUSS algorithm to get convergent solution of array units’ information which can meet the basic rules of shared-aperture antenna. Moreover, it is verified by simulation test that compressive sensing theory can be used in the shared-aperture antenna array synthesis.
