With the advent of Openstack, CloudStack and other open source cloud computing platform, cloud computing is rapid development. The concept of multi-tenant cloud computing requires after using virtualization technology to pool physical resource, on-demand and dynamic resource request of tenants can be allocated, meanwhile these resources can be revoked at any time by tenants. Under this new trend, the resource request of each tenant can be abstracted can be abstracted as a virtual data center(VDC) which consists of virtual machines(VMs), and in order to meet the transferring data and intermediate file demands between the virtual machines, a virtual link is needed to provide bandwidth guarantees between the virtual machines. Currently VDC mapping algorithm has become a new hotspot, VDC mapping algorithm is used to solve the problem of how to embed the virtual resource requests to physical resources with better resource utilization or less energy. But existing VDC embedding techniques and algorithms do not consider VDC reliability. VDC reliability is closely related to quality of service of VDC and physical resources suppliers consumed, therefor the study of VDC reliability will produce great value. We will proposes a heuristic algorithm to solve reliability-aware VDC embedding problem. The simulation results show that compared with current 2EM algorithm, the proposed algorithm can satisfy VDC reliability requirement, and effectively reduce bandwidth consumption of data center by up to 30% without consuming extra energy. In multi-tenant scenarios, in addition to the VDC embedding algorithm, multi-tenant data center network architecture is another important research direction. Many researchers have proposed network architectures which is suitable for multi-tenant data center to solve the problem how to share network resources among multiple tenants. Among them, SecondNet architecture is most representative. SecondNet firstly proposed regarding VDC as resource requesting unit of tenants to manage data center network. However, multi-tenant environments also require data center network must support massive tenants, tenant isolation, seamless virtual machine migration and other functions. But to support thest functions, existing network architecture must cooperate with various other technology, thus resulting in the more cost of network manager learning new technology and the more diffucult network maintenance.Software Defined Network(SDN) is transforming networking architecture. In the SDN architecture, the control and data planes are decoupled, network management are logically centralized. Tenant isolation, seamless virtual machine migration and other functions which multi tenant data center needs can be implemented rapidly by SDN. Therefore, we will integrate SDN and SecondNet, then design and implement a SDN-based VDC management platform. In this platform, SDN manages network resources, Openstack manages computing resources, and VDC management algorithms manage the adjustment of all resources. The test results show this platform can execute basic VDC operations, and shield the implementation details of input and output of VDC management algorithms, thus VDC management algorithm researchers can make the new algorithm deployed in a true multi-tenant data center environment only by implementing the algorithm logic.
