In nearly a decade, China’s Internet industry began to grow rapidly. In the face of such a large network data flow, and a variety of new Internet business applications, the traditional TCP/IP as the core of the network architecture is more and more shows its expanded complex and difficult to maintain wait for all sorts of disadvantage, it also encouraged people to the research of the new generation network architecture. As mobile application development, people want to transform the future network into a software model, just like the mobile application development. So the idea of the SDN(Software Defined Networking) is produced. In the concept of SDN, the key idea is separating Network data’s forwarding and control. On the other hand, with the extensive use of the Internet, combined with the mobile network, networking, big data and cloud computing and other new generation of network technology and development, in order to deal with such a massive scale data, data centers came into being. Data centers are generally being a research institutions, units or enterprises to build and centralized control management, with the idea of SDN is almost fully fit, so SDN in the current environment the main scene and reality application requirements all come from the data center. The core values of the data center is that you can thousands of centralized data processing, so the performance of the network is extremely demanding, which presents a challenge to Traffic load balancing in data centers.Purpose of this paper is to study how to implement link load balancing in SDN Data Center. This paper based on the stability characteristics of east-west traffic flow in data center network, we propose the traffic detection based dynamic load balancing algorithm(Dynamic Load Balance, DLB). The basic idea of DLB is to divide the flows into two sets(e.g. steady flows and unsteady flows) and apply different routing schemes for flows in different set. In detail, ECMP_based routing scheme is used to forward the unstable flows, and single optimal path based routing scheme is used to forward the stable flows. When the link start blocking, the flow routing algorithm will migrate the source virtual machine which has the steady flow with bigger traffic, in order to avoid the elephant flow concentration. In addition, in order to test the performance of DLB algorithm, we design and build a data center SDN experimental platform, and on the platform to achieve load balancing application to test the algorithm performance. By comparison with other algorithms, experimental results show that under the same throughput, the higher the proportion of steady flow in the network, DLB algorithm has better performance than ECMP.
