Arbitrary waveform generator as a special signal source has been widely used in the field of modern electronic test. But with the development of technology such as communications, radar, people put forward the demand for signal simulation of non-ideal and multiple modulation formats. How to use the arbitrary waveform generator quickly and effectively generate these signals is the research hotspot and difficulty. Radio signal simulation software designed for this has brought new opportunities, as an arbitrary waveform generator auxiliary product that provides convenient and reliable solutions for complex data signal is generated. Since the data generation module is the strong support of the simulation software, so the study of the module is of great significance.The paper bases on the signal emission and transmission process of reality communication as the research object mainly complete the design of data generation module of general signal(the modulation signal of general radio frequency, intermediate frequency and baseband) in the signal simulation software. For the development of the telecommunication equipment or performance test, it provides a powerful data support. The key research contents are as follows:1. Comprehensive analysis of signal emission and transmission process of real wireless communication, obtains the design requirements of general signal. And then based on the characteristics of different functions, divide will be realized functions into standard signal generator, signal non-ideal characteristic and signal anti-interference characteristic three categories, at the same time put forward the overall design scheme of data generation module.2. According to the theoretical study of vector modulation, analysis standard signal generator with multiple modulation formats, complete simulation model constructs of analog modulation and multiple digital modulations; Analysis the signal non-ideal characteristic of the communication process, complete simulation model structures of distortion, interference, fading, etc; Analysis the anti-interference behavior of preventing signal to intercept and interference, complete simulation model structures of hopping, power ramping, etc.3. According to the proposed design scheme, and use software radio platform to complete the frame design of of data generation module; And then based on the model is established, through software programming to complete the implementation of each functionality including of phase shift keying modulation, quadrature amplitude modulation, phase quadrature error, amplifier distortion, pseudo-random hopping, etc, and simulate the test data generated by each function, in order to verify the correctness of the design.4. Select testing tools to set up software test platform, and then playback the data generated by signal source, and test signal on the output side, in order to ensure the authenticity and feasibility of the data.By verification, this paper designs the data generation module can accurately acquire and process interface parameters; can achieve standard signal generation of multiple modulation formats, can simulate non-ideal signal generation under a single error or multiple error, can simulate test signal generation of pseudo-random hopping, power rampping, etc.
