With the development of modern science and technology, natural gas and other combustible gas has been widely used, and because of its leakage caused by fire, explosion and other accidents, people’s lives and property security has been seriously threatened. In recent years, with the increase of urban high-rise intensive residential buildings, and expansion of the hazardous gas alarm in the domestic market, how to real-time transmit more than one alarm monitoring terminal alarm information to the master server, achieve the purpose of centralized monitoring and wireless communication, will become the key research direction of domestic gas alarm. And for home users, installing alarm in the kitchen and other places with fuel gas and poison gas, to remote monitoring the changes of the hazardous gas in the living environment, and to reliably prevent the explosion and poisoning accidents will also be the future direction of development. In view of the above problems, a household combustible gas alarm is designed in this paper, which can simultaneously detect methane(CH4) and carbon monoxide(CO) two kinds of hazardous gas and can realize remote wireless WIFI monitoring.The research and design of household hazardous gas alarm is presented as follows:(1) According to the design requirements, a reasonable design scheme is proposed. Applying semiconductor sensor MHP-4 and electrochemical sensor ME2-CO produced by Wei Sheng technology companies as CH4 and CO gas detection element respectively, a household hazardous gas alarm which can simultaneously detect CH4 and CO is developed out.(2) The hardware circuit of the alarm system is studied, including power circuit, micro controller circuit, key circuit, sound and light alarm circuit and wireless data transmission circuit and other modules. The alarm is directly connected to the 220 V power, to complete the power supply of the micro controller circuit, sound light alarm circuit and other functional circuits through the power conversion circuit.(3) Alarm software design is Programmed to achieve the sensor signal acquisition, data processing, fault detection, alarm logic judgment and wireless data transmission and other alarm procedures for the design of alarm. The wireless transparent transmission technology is applied to the alarm data transmission, to achieve wireless monitoring alarm.(4) The performance test of the household combustible gas alarm is completed from the prototype of the calibration test, hardware test and reliability test, and according to the test results the performance of the alarm is analyzed.
