Nowadays, computer network has developed into one of the important infrastructu-res of the country and network security became an important part of national security. Because of the weaknesses of network architect and its openness, covertness, transnational nature and other characteristics, security affairs of networks happen frequently. Among them, the events of Low Rate Network Attacks with the characteristics of Low Rate attacks, well-targeted, difficult detection and defense and other characteristics,which have been threatened to the security of network infrastructure seriously. Consequently, there is an urgent need to pay more attention to the research on this kind of attack.In this paper, we choose three typical attacks to study,which are LDoS(Low Rate Denial of Service) attacks against Router Queuing Management Mechanisms, LFA (Link Flooding Attack)attacks and APT(Advanced Persistent Threats, APT) attacks. First of all, build models for two typical attacks against DropTail and RED Router Queuing Management Mechanisms,in which the sending and receiving of data follows the FIFO(First In First Out) principle. After simulation, the results show that the attack caused a high packet loss rate and large delay of normal data. Then, the models are simulated based on Emulab platform and SEER tool. The results show that the attacks cause the network throughput of the target reduce a lot. Secondly, build model for LFA attacks. After simulation, the results show that the loss of normal data is serious in the case of target link overload. In addition, the model is simulated based on Emulab architecture. The results show that the attack effect is verified. Finally,on the base of analyzing targets, process and methods of APT Attacks, model is build based on CPN. Through the analysis of the performance of the attack model, the results show that the model is bounded and has activity, which indicates that the model is reasonable.By modeling of typical Low Rate Network Attacks and study of the Attack mechanism, the way of attack and key technology, make me deepen the understanding of Low Rate Network Attacks. Based on Emulab simulation platform, the attack effect of Low Rate Network Attacks was proved by simulation of the typical Low Rate Network attacks. Moreover, the simulation environment of network attacking and defense was designed safely and controllably, highly realistic, repeatedly. It is of great significance for studying on network security and promotion of the researches of method to detect and defense of Low Rate Network Attacks effectively.
