Recently, the electronic package equipment is able to accomplish the automatic package of standard electronic components with high speed, stability, and high precision. Yet it is difficult to realize the automatic package of the odd-form electronic components for their variety, low accuracy, and non-standard etal. The problem of low efficiency, low quality and high price of manual package in the end of production line is urgent to be solved. Aiming at the positioning and rectifying-a-deviation problem of odd-form electronic components (plug-in), this paper proposes a high speed and precise PCB benchmark locating method and a stable and reliable rectifying-a-deviation algorithm of odd-form components based on vision on-the-fly. The main content is as below:1. A deep investigation and research on state-of-the-art of odd-form component insertion machine and its vision system is made. The difficulties and research significance of realizing the automatic plug-in mounting of odd-form components and its vision system are analyzed.2. The technical index of vision system is proposed according to the present situation and the customer demand. A solution of vision on-the-fly system is provided based on the model selection principle and result of camera, lens, illuminant and calibration target given by the technical index. Finally the circle point calibration target is used to calibrate the camera.3. A research on the PCB benchmark locating is made. The probe type benchmark locating method based on Tukey-weight is proposed, improving the locating robustness and accuracy of PCB benchmark.Solved the problem of inaccurate positioning or cannot positioning for the region of damage.4. Aiming at the rectifying-a-deviation problem of odd-form electronic components, a template matching method based on sub-pixel edges is proposed. The problem of low accuracy and slow speed of model mach is solved. A method of Canny algorithm and sub-pixel edge detection fusion is proposed aiming at the speed and accuracy problem of edge detection. Besides, a search method of diminishing the search space and pyramid model is employed to decrease the template matching time.5. The C++ programming language was used in the Studio Visual 2010 environment to develop the software of the visual system of the odd-form plug-in unit. The function of PCB benchmark identification and odd-form components detection are achived. Through the experimental PCB reference point positioning and odd-form components deviation rectifying ability is verified.
