Along with the development of economic, the residents of vehicle ownership is continually growing, and the driver’s driving behavior habits have been getting more and more attention. Compared with the fact that a new era of vehicle to be the main transportation to travel is growing popularly, research results at home and abroad for supervision, management and evaluation methods of driving behavior habits are still in the primary stage. The thesis put forward a five-dimensional evaluation method of driving behavior habits based on OBD technology. It divided driving behavior habits into five dimensions including stable driving, standardized operation, vehicle health, driving experience and energy-saving, using long-term vehicle data to make quantitative assessment on driver’s driving behavior habits.The research data of the thesis came from the real-time vehicle information which was read by OBD vehicle terminal equipment. Based on the international protocol OBDII&EOBD, OBD vehicle terminal equipment read vehicle data which was produced while driving, including speed, engine, exhaust system, etc. The thesis introduced the processing method of the vehicle data which directly reflected user’s driving behavior habits, including using Grubbs test method to calculate fuel consumption, using function fitting to calculate the optimum average driving speed, and OBD fault code classification to judge automobile fault state. These data was used as model input. Made hierarchical division of driving behavior habits, constructed five-dimensional evaluation method based on AHP method, and calculated weight occupied by each input data in each dimension and overall model. Ultimately, quantitatively evaluated the user’s driving behavior habits.To support the five-dimensional evaluation method, the corresponding support tools and client were required. In our research, we developed OBD online support and driving habits evaluation system——OBDController, and application client in mobile handheld devices to achieve driving habits and vehicle health monitoring——XHermes. The thesis introduced main functions of software systems, and provided feasible improvement plan.
