Satellite communication plays an important role in the modern communication technology. The close combination of satellite communication and ground communication make it possible to achieve seamless communication. The satellite communication solves the limitation of the ground communication. Under the premise of satellite communication technology continues to develop, the use of computer simulation software to simulate the satellite communication system with high reliability and low cost.The STK (Satellite Tool Kit) software and the MATLAB software are chosen to simulate the system in this paper, in this paper, not only the model of traditional satellite communication was built, but also can realize the visualization of scene simulation.The satellite communication system theory are described firstly, then the relevant theoretical knowledge in satellite communication is analyzed, finally, the common reference system, time system and the satellite orbit parameters are introduced in this paper, which lays a solid foundation for the simulation of satellite communication system. The scene objects and their properties of the satellite communication system are simulated based on the satellite communication theory, according to the theoretical knowledge of satellite orbit parameters, the satellite, interference star, the user star are also simulated. The control and display interface of communication system is designed by the MATLAB/GUI software, first of all, the STK and MATLAB were configured to realize programming control of STK, such as controlling the STK scenery by the STK module, can also display the attribute information of ground station and satellite. On the basis for the establishment of satellite communication scenarios, the interference communication system is established by using the STK/communications module, the satellite communication system parameters are displayed using the STK report and MATLAB/GUI interface.In this paper, the satellite communication simulation platform is designed, and the operation status of satellite communication is simulated in various conditions, the visibility between satellite and ground is also analyzed, and it can be observed and analyzed by MATLAB interface. On the one hand, this kind of visible and scientific simulation method is more vivid than the traditional simulation method, and it can observe the satellite communication scene in real time; on the other hand, the MATLAB programming control and the GUI interface are added in this method compared with the single STK model. This study demonstrates that the design of the simulation system platform in this paper is necessary and can be realized.
