This research subject comes from the General Armament Department of "technology of a new system and multifunctional artillery locating radar". The study is on an artillery locating radar and the purpose is achieving double-blind assessment of the kind of artillery locating radar system performance with independent radar system, the targets model and environment model established. Double-blind assessment is that radar model provided by radar development part, target and environment model provided by assessment part are independent, with not understanding any information each other, this will be an objective and fair assessment on the radar performance and a strong confidentiality for technical details of both sides at the same time. But it is "transparent" to radar performance evaluation for the traditional radar simulation system.In the course of studying the subject, the following works have been done:1. The characteristics and simulation advantages of SystemVue and radar library have been briefly introduced, with the X-parameter module, the envelope signal model of the RF model library and rich data types importantly analyzed. And its application in radar system simulation has been analyzed in detail.2. There are a detailed theoretical analysis for the working principle and mode of operation of artillery locating radar, and a detailed principle analysis and modeling for the radar subsystems. On the basis of these theoretical analysises, the radar system has been designed which contains beam controller model, transmission system and received system.3. A target simulation modeling and trajectory equation have been given and some custom shells targets with a free-trajectory have been established, then a number of independent artillery shells targets modules have been designed.4. The clutter, noise and interference simulation modeling is given and an independent environment module including major cloud and rain clutter, and chaff interference has been designed. An independent radio interference module, jamming module and low altitude target module have been designed, and a complex electromagnetic interference environment system has been established.5. In order to develop an objective and fair radar system performance assessment, the radar system module, multiple independent shells targets modules, environment module, radio interference module and jamming module are connected via separate interfaces, then a complete double-blind evaluation system is established.
