Injection is an indispensable part of the modern medicine and injection therapy has become one of the most common treatment method. However, there exists some inevitable tiny visible matter inside the container of pharmaceutical liquid. Once these particles entered the circulation, it would cause serious injury of the patient. Whether at home or abroad, all of the automatic visible foreign particle inspection machines employ the method of monocular. Although after inspection there are hardly any particulate visible matter existing in small volume injections, this kind of method has its own inherent vice:it cannot effectively distinguish among real visible particles, mechanical vibration and light disturbance and when it comes to large volume of infusions, accuracy rate goes down. As a result, it becomes vital important that the research and improvement on visible particulate matter inspection technology. Based on the monocular method, this thesis studies binocular technologies for inspection and the main work of this study include:The background of injection production industry is introduced and analysis and comparison of current machines and technologies between domestic and overseas are made. Then it comes out the importance of seeking new inspection method. The research train of thought solving the existing problems and technical difficulties is elaborated. In order to build binocular inspection test platform, a detailed introduction of manual inspection method of visible foreign particle is made. After understanding the manual inspection device, method and standard, experiments have made and the imaging features of particulate matter and disturbances are detailedly labored. The epipolar geometry is thoroughly expounded and the concepts of stereo calibration, rectification, correspondence are simply sketched out and key parameters of devices are given. The binocular principle is applied to the detection algorithm:an "Assess-Filter-Locate" pre-process is designed on account of the characteristics of sequential images. A novel stereo correspondence method using differential information is proposed which could dramatically reduce calculated amount and significantly improve depth computing speed. The particulate matter, with depth information, can be more easily distinguished from disturbances.Last but certainly not the least, a kind of automatic-online-binocular detection scheme is presented in detail including imaging modeling and parameters calculation, device selection and installation. In addition, a reducing-vibration control strategy is designed for the tracking-and-acquisition system which will improve the stability of the rotary mechanical system.
