We’ve been in an information era for few decades. With the tremendous contribution that Internet has brought to our society, Internet has become an indispensable infrastructure for promoting economic development and social progress. However, the original Internet architecture, which is designed for the demands in 1970s, could hardly cope with the challenge nowadays, such as scalability problem caused by the increasing number of users and applications. In this context, it is essential and urgent to redesign the architecture and relative mechanisms of Internet to meet the needs in the future.In 2013, the NGIT(The Laboratory of Next Generation of Internet Technologies) of Beijing Jiaotong university, proposed a novel network architecture with "three layers", "two fields" called Smart Identifier Network based on the previous 973 research. In Smart Identifier Network, smart central controlling component and switching component are most important components. The switching component provides the fundamental forwarding function at the Forwarding Component Layer. Moreover, the stability and flexibility of switching component is essential for the availability and reliability of the whole network.In this paper, we proposed the overall design framework of the switching component in Smart Identifier Network, in which we originally designed and implemented the functionality of data forwarding and flow control. We conducted several experiments to verify the efficiency and feasibility of the proposed mechanisms in the framework, which is the fundamental part of Smart Identifier Network.First, this paper clarified the existing problems in the current Internet and briefly introduced the various promising technologies and ideas in the field of Future Internet. Then based on the theory of Smart Identifier Network, we proposed the design framework of the switching component and introduced the design and implementation of data forward and flow control function in detail. The overall design of switching component was based on modular multi-threading implementation architecture, which made the framework convenient to development and debug while enhancing its scalability. This paper designed a novel "Forward Hop Table" to support efficient and controllable data forwarding with extensible match fields. As to the flow control function, we designed new flow control method by the "Differ Strategy" and "Merge Strategy" to realize stable and flexible DifferServ flow control. Finally, this paper tested the function of data forward module and flow control module respectively, which verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the design scheme in this paper.
