With the development of the network, the number or types of the device is becoming incredible increase, at the same time, the traffic is becoming more complexity. The network is Sensitive to the reliability of the device, and the reliability is basic requirements of the telecom level equipment. We use NSF(Non-Stop-Forwarding) technology to promote the reliability of the device, but the technology is limit to widely use because of sensitive to other device. So a new high reliability technology, we call it NSR(Non-Stop-Routing), is used in many project. The technology do not care about any neighbor device and it doesn’t effect route traffic when switching the device.The paper designs and Realizes OSPF(Open Shortest Path First) routing protocol synchronization mechanism. The NSR function can Realized by synchronization mechanism, thus the route traffic is normal when switching the device. The paper is based on OSPF routing protocol, then it use OSPF routing protocol synchronization mechanism on high reliability multiple master system. It optimized many designs about OSPF routing protocol synchronization mechanism, so the synchronization mechanism is Real-time and reliability. On the basis of high reliability multiple master system, the paper discuss the question of the design and optimization about OSPF routing protocol synchronization mechanism, and research OSPF synchronization message including process, interface, neighbor, Link State Advertisement(LSA). The paper analyzes the frequent problems about OSPF synchronization process, including the large capacity of LSA synchronization, LSA fragmentation synchronization, retransmit LSA synchronization, etc. It is explicit about optimization the OSPF synchronization mechanism, and promotes feasible modification scheme.Through the research methods above, the paper implements the basic procedure of OSPF synchronization process, synchronization mechanism can be divided into initialization synchronization and real-time synchronization. At the same times, it promotes the detailed design of synchronization mechanism and uses on stander device. It certifies the efficiency and high reliability of OSPF routing protocol synchronization mechanism on stander device. The research mechanism can guarantee the high reliability of OSPF protocol on the device, effectively guarantee the traffic without interrupted, and improve the quality of services of the telecom network.
