In recent years, with the rapid development of network technology, more and more applications began to use the B/S(Browser/Server) mode. Thus the remote video surveillance has begun to transplant to the Web page. It is different from the C/S(Client/Server) mode. The user can access the latest release of the video surveillance system using browser without the need of downloading operations.This thesis aims to complete the design and implementation of the client of video surveillance and management system based on the B/S mode. After analyzing the current situation of development in China and abroad, the thesis introduces the key technologies, such as Struts2, Spring, Hibernate, MySQL database and SIP protocol between client and server. Also, this thesis designed the overall architecture based on the demand analysis. For different users’ authority, this client mainly includes three functional modules: video surveillance, system management and inspection management. At the same time, it also designs the relationship structure of the data table in the underlying database, and designs the communication signaling process between the server and the server. At last, we give the concrete realization of the client, such as the integration of S2 SH, the ORM mapping between the object and the database table, the embedding and call of the ActiveX control widget, as well as the realization of the client and the display of the operation interface.Tests show that the client in this thesis can achieve the basic requirements of video surveillance, system management and inspection. In addition, the httperf tool is used to test the response time and the number of concurrent accesses, and the result shows that the client can meet the requirements of multi user concurrent access. The research results of this thesis have reference value for the development and application of B/S client.
