With the advancing of the flat network, IP Over OTN(Internet Protocol Over Optical Transport Network) network model is the basis of the construction of backbone network in recent years. The IP(Internet Protocol) network is carrying mobile products business based IP network as well as the bearer of broadband Internet business CMNET(China Mobile Net), transport network from the early point-to-point WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) network gradually to a ring of OTN(Optical Transport Network)network evolution. Therefore, the IP Over OTN optical network transmission system has different characteristics, which is a new challenge to the network service scheduling, route selection, cross configuration, reliability and survivability, and the related problems of IP Over OTN network transmission system has become the focus and hotspot of current research. In this paper, we consider the reliability problem of using shared backup path to protect the supply of backup capacity to handle double layer backbone network. First, Optimization of SSR(Successive survivable routing algorithm) algorithm in the SCA(Spare capacity allocation) model. Then, FID(Failure-independent path restoration), FD(Failure-dependent path restoration), and FDStubR(Failure-dependent path restoration with stub release) three kinds of fault path restoration schemes are presented based on the SSR algorithm. Finally, the simulation results of SSR algorithm are analyzed and discussed, including the comparison of the SSR algorithm, the top layer cross-layer spare capacity reservation, the common pool protection vs. single layer protection on both layers, the redundancy and scalability of the network, and the FID, FD and FDStubR fault path restoration schemes of 5 aspects. The simulation results show that the optimized SSR algorithm can solve the problem of large network fault recovery. At the same time, the FD backup path protection recovery scheme is close to the optimal solution, which can not only improve the share of the backup capacity, but also reduce the network redundancy.
