With the rapid development of multi-spectral imaging technology and panoramic imaging technology, The dual-band or even the multi-band panoramic imaging system has been competed to research by many countries to replace the single-band or single-field imaging system. The visible/infrared panoramic imaging system has very high advantage compared with a single field, single band imaging system:It captures new target continuous by staring making technology, with high speed on aiming, with high update speed on real-time image, with a strong awareness on the goal, probing objectives with a high accuracy; Dual band imaging, the system detecting sensitivity is higher, can identify the target threat of day and night, weather conditions and environment of multi-level and comprehensive various camouflage. This paper based on summarizing the domestic and international multi-spectral imaging methods and chose the distribution of the aperture to arrange the objective lens by omni bearing way. The visible light/infrared panoramic optical system was designed by sharing aperture four channels. A visible CCD detector and an uncooled infrared focal plane detector instead of multiple detectors to accept a full range of visual information was used by the system, greatly saves the cost of the system.Panoramic imaging system were introduced in detail, respectively, in visible light and infrared part of the design process, and the results of their design were analyzed in all types of aberration curve. The analysis of the system have good imaging quality in the whole field of view from the transfer function, the spot diagram, astigmatic distortion, transverse aberration. In order to reduce the volume and mass of the entire system, we used aspheric and diffractive element to adjust the astigmatism, curvature of field, chromatic aberration and distortion of the large field of view, the large relative aperture system in the paper. In the part of designing infrared panoramic imaging, analysis of several methods of temperature compensation current, the optical passive athermalization has been selected at the final.we have done the athermal design by matching different materials and proper distribution of power on the system within the -40℃~60℃ scope. The final results showed that, the system has been designed meeting the imaging requirements in the given temperature range. The error analysis and tolerance allocation has been taken on the system which provides the basis for the processing and assembly of the panoramic system. Discusses the theory of image motion, image motion of the system are analyzed, the system designed meeting the requirements of the Technology specification.
