With the rapid development of Internet, the network video service was widely used. In order to get a better user experience, and save the network bandwidth resources of service provider, many new technologies were proposed by researchers, where P2P(Peer-to-Peer) technology is a promising one. With the construction of P2P network, the traditional client/server (C/S) architecture for network video service was broken, and the bottleneck problem of C/S architecture was also solved effectively. The problem of applying P2P technology to network video broadcast service is focused on the construction of P2P overlay network and the algorithm of sharing resources among different nodes.In this thesis, the classification of P2P network structure and its related advantage and disadvantage were firstly introduced, and according to the high dynamic characteristic and high real-time requirement of the live video service, the unstructured P2P network was studied and analyzed. Meanwhile, in order to eliminate the weakness of lacking of center management for unstructured P2P network, the SIP protocol was used to control and manage the node in P2P network. Then, two important technologies for unstructured P2P network were analyzed in detail:overlay network management and data scheduling strategy, which are two important factors to determine the performance of P2P network.Based on the unstructured P2P network, a framework of P2P live video system based on SIP was proposed in this thesis. Furthermore, the design of the live video server and client nodes were also analyzed, and the working principle of each module was explained respectively.Finally, the functional test and performance test are carried out on the proposed system. The results showed that the overlay network management and data scheduling strategy can work properly in the system, and when the network churns, the system can make rapid adjustment to reduce the video delay.
