As the user demand for network bandwidth is continuously growing,10G optical module cannot fit the growing backbone network data flow. The next generation higher-speed networks have begun to develop. Network operators have carried out large-scale deployment of 100G system. And 100G optical module is complied with the capacity demand of backbone optical networks.IEEE 802.3ba based 100Gbit/s Ethernet has put into commercial application. And the corresponding 100G optical transceiver modules, CFP, is highly integrated, hot-pluggable, and mature. It is mainly used in core routers, switches and supercomputers, etc. The package, pin arrangement and other hardware structural of CFP optical transceiver modules are defined in the CFP MSA Hardware specification. While the CFP MSA Management Interface Specification provides the software interface, register and signal control rules.The design and implementation of 10* 10G multimode CFP optical transceiver module is based on those two specifications. CFP module completes optical signal and electrical signal convert, and reports monitoring status of the module at the same time. The hardware part, designed according to the hardware specifications, was mainly divided into the power circuit, clock circuit, transmitting circuit, receiving circuit and signal processing circuit. The software part, design based on the management interface specification, included initialization, main cycle and interrupt service routine. And the modularized software realized the underlying drive, control circuit and protocol functions.Through comprehensive testing from many aspects, such as initialization, communication, sampling and calibration, monitoring, alarm and operating status, the correctness and completeness of the designed module was verified, and it meet the design requirements and the related specification, and works stably and reliably.
