The Research And Implementation Of Traffic Management In SDN Controller

The Internet plays vary important role in our daily life. Present network can hardly meet requirements put forward by users. SDN has emerged as a new network technology for offering efficient and flexible services and lowering operating costs.After development for several years, the architecture of SDN has been almost completed. The traffic management of SDN is mature to increase the utilization of network resource and improve performance of network. With the combination of SDN and existing network technologies, SDN can be easily deployed without affecting existing network functionality.The traffic management in SDN is that the network controller allocates network resource after gaining the complete view of entire underlying network and all of the requirements of services. It is key for improving performance of network to reasonably allocate network resource according to the features abstracted from different services.Traffic management system can be divided into three functional modules:,topology discovery, path computation and rule configuration. The network performance is depending on the performance of path computation module. In this thesis, the MILP based VLM is proposed in which the path computation is abstracted to virtual links mapping, where the requirements of services are abstracted to link mapping requests, the state of underlying network, links mapping requests and configuration strategies are represented by a set of linear equations, of which the solution is the solution of path computation.The simulation is completed with the acceptance rate of virtual link requests as performance evaluation standard. Performance comparison is made between MILP based VLM and current SPF for MPLS traffic management. Simulation shows that a significant performance improvement can be obtained by the improved VLM over traditional SPF.
