With the rapid development of China’s economy, transportation industry plays the important role in the process of promoting economic development. In the course of ship navigation, ballast water is an essential part of controlling process in ship’s stability and safety. It may contain a lot of microorganisms, such as bacteria, algae and so on, which cannot be discharged, otherwise it will cause environmental pollution and ecological damage. Therefore ballast water treatment has become an important content in the ocean transportation.Although the existing ship ballast water treatment technologies and methods are many, but the treatment effects are different. Due to restriction of ship ballast water treatment and discharge standards by Convention, the detection and evaluation of treatment effect become significance in the actual ship ballast water treatment method and the system design. The traditional detection method for the effect of ships ballast water treatment, such as microscope observation, has a complicated operation. It means a testing cycle is long and complex analysis process, high degree of automation is not weakness. Based on this the paper puts forward a kind of ship ballast water treatment effect analysis method, and based on the detection system is designed, and the reliability of the system is verified by a series of experiments.In this paper, the research content and innovation points include the following:in terms of system structure, designed based on microfluidic chip micro algae of chlorophyll fluorescence induction activity detection module;Based on the theory of seepage, electrophoresis, micro valve control micro algae movement module;Fluorescent signal the signal processing module;Based on the PC LabVIEW software and data acquisition card signal acquisition module and detecting data processing program.Each module design for experimental verification and system integration, compared with the traditional existing ballast water treatment effect evaluation method and system can be efficient and fast detection of algae activity, simple operation, high automation.Using chemical method of sodium hypochlorite solution processing salt alga, according to the different concentration and time to deal with two groups of experimental data analysis were conducted for detecting the active system reliability is verified.For later effect of ship ballast water treatment system design provides new train of thought and reference, to guide the ship ballast water treatment methods of improvement and practical industrial application, etc.
