Campus network platform, as a teaching aid, has become the main method and means for teachers and students to gain access to network information resources. The existing means of campus network transmission has network as the main body. However, the process of the development of wired network has brought a lot of difficult issues, such as high construction costs, high fees, limited number of information points, inability to provide portable mobile, etc. These problems have occurred or are about to occur, and therefore a new way of transmission is needed to solve this problem. With its unique way of transmission, wireless network can fully compensate for the disadvantages of cable network transmission about the abovementioned issues. Wi-Fi is generated and rapidly developed in this demand.The innovation of wireless technology, the popularizationof wireless intelligent terminals and the falling cost of hardware have prompted the rapid development of the entire wireless network industry. Campus wirelessnetwork developed in this environment. It will be contributed to the constitution ofthe wireless network platform which is suitable for teaching and researches.In this thesis, the author takes the opportunity of constructing a campus wireless network platform, and makes "unified planning, step-by-step implementation" as the core idea. In the first place, the author makes a comparative analysis ofthe suitable situations for various technologies by studying and grasping the characteristics of wireless network technology; The author then makes a unified planning and "step-by-step" implementation for areas in which the construction of wireless network is needed; Besides these, the author tries to elaborate on the choice of protocol standards, the network construction mode, the design of topologystructure, and the choice of the type of devices and he finally makes a final design. After a comprehensive analysis and screening, the author takes 802.1x authentications as the accessing mode for campus wireless network users. Finally,the author aims to realize the integration of wired authentification and accountingsystem, adopts the unified management of Internet users, and constructs Airwave Wireless NMS to manage and maintain the wireless network platform. At the end of this thesis, an elaborate planning was made on the safety application policy, and a testing was made on the performance of the constructed campus wireless network.The complementation and expansion of the wirless network in Campus Network is not only the development of technology, but also an innovation brought by wireless network to teaching methods. It causes an re-integration of different teaching resources, and provides a basic security function to the change of the concept of education. After the construction of Campus Wireless Network, this network will become a widecovered, highly mobile, easily managed one. It cann-ot only meet the requirements of the sustainable development of a school, but also can have a farreaching influence on the information construction in universityes.
