The Analysis And Implementation Of OpenFlow Virtual Switch

OpenFlow which was proposed in recent years is a new programmable network technology based on flow classification. The core conception of OpenFlow is separating control layer and data forward layer of network equipment, and the data forward layer is managed by control layer. This strategy provide great convenience for network innovation.However, there are some problems to build cloud computing data center network by using OpenFlow technology. Firstly, the simple flow table matching of OpenFlow couldn’t meet the requirement of enormous data processing in the data center. And the limitation of virtual machine scale and the isolation of multi-tenant of data center still can’t be solved by the VLAN technology which is supported by OpenFlow.Therefore, this thesis lucubrates the flow table structure and the matching process of of OpenFlow, analyses the flow classification technology of current OpenFlow virtual switch. And then propose a flow matching scheme under the environment of cloud computing data center based on OpenFlow 1.3. On the other hand, the thesis analyses and implements the network technology of VxLAN, and optimize the process of VxLAN forwarding and replying flow of ARP in the OpenFlow virtual machine.In conclusion, the thesis intensively study the OpenFlow technology, and a solution of flow matching scheme under the environment of cloud computing data center is proposed. And then the VxLAN is provided to solve problems about network isolation of multi-tenant and the limitation of virtual machine scale. All of these make great significance in studying OpenFlow technology, especially the application about OpenFlow virtual switch in cloud computing data center.
