With the rapid development of technology, laser technology has been widely used in various fields such as industry, agriculture, communications and medicine. Laser decays when through inhomogeneous medium. In practical application, the transmission of laser will be affected by the natural or artificial smoke screen; hence the transmission characteristics of laser transmitted in smokescreen has became worldwide research subject. This paper focus on the topic of laser transmission in smoke screen. In the first part, it analyzed the properties of the copper particles and graphite particles scattered under the foundation of Mie scattering theory in a theoretical simulation way and differentiated the decay of smokescreen particles to laser as scattering and absorption. Then it used Lambert-Beer’s law to calculate the transmittance of lasers transmit in copper and graphite smokescreen which wavelengths are 355 nm, 532 nm, 650 nm, 830 nm, 980 nm, 1064 nm.In the second part, ultra-fine spherical copper and graphite has been used to create a smokescreen under the indoor experimental conditions to experimental analyze the transmittance of lasers transmitted with a wavelength of 532 nm, 650 nm, 980 nm. The comparison of the analysis of experimental data on research and theoretical results laid a solid foundation of further study of the practical application of laser transmission in a smokescreen.
