Inertial confinement fusion(ICF) is the most promising way to realize controlled nuclear fusion, and laser inertial confinement fusion is the main direction of the research. ICF target manufacturing assembly is the key link of the fusion experiments, its size is very small and easily damaged. So the accuracy needed is high, and also it’s difficult to use traditional way to location and assembly the ICF target. This paper deeply research the related technology of ICF target domestic and foreign and puts forward the solution to assembly the structure of CFTA(Capsule Fill-Tube Assembly) in the way of multi-dimensional microscopic visual. This paper also developed a set of precise target As sembly system based on machine vision.This paper analysis composition and structure of ICF target and put forward the general assembly strategy based on micro machine vision, using hollow reflector to realize multidimensional visual inspection of the inflatable tube and the pinhole structure of injection model.According to the designed scheme, the paper analysis the imaging, light source and the mechanical structure and select the relevant hardware equipment. Software is designed to realize the control of the assembly system as a whole. To meet the needs of specific image with various positioning parts structure, key technology in the process of image processing is studied. It includes the Hough transform, template matching and sub-pixel positioning, image processing technology. Technological process to locate the gas tubes, injection hole detection of microscopic image is accomplished.According to the above plan assembly system is build, and the whole assembly process is verified by experiment, t he testing data are analyzed in the process of assembly.According to the final results, the proposed assembly system based on the microscopic visual machine meet the requirement of target assembly positioning accuracy. The positioning accuracy is better than 2 microns, and angle detection accuracy is superior to 0.5°.
