Power equipment malfunctions such as power outages cause great inconvenience and loss in people’s manufacturing life, so it is significant to locate and repair the malfunctioned power equipment in a short period of time to resume normal power supply and ensure the reliability of power system. However, power equipment is usually installed in the places such as basements which are dark. If the worker is not familiar with the dark environment, when after entering into the basement, it will be difficult for him to locate himself and find the route to the location of the power equipment. In order to guide the worker to reach the malfunctioned power equipment quickly, it is necessary to equip the worker with positioning and navigation tools indoor. Nevertheless, the existing indoor navigation and positioning technology doesn’t work well at present. To sum up, in view of the indoor navigation field, we still need to make further research and development.As to the present indoor navigation and positioning technology, this article summarized the relevant knowledge. With the principle of inertial navigation, this article designed an indoor positioning and route guidance system. Then, based on the i OS software platform, using the hardware configuration and calculation ability of the mobile device i Phone, the corresponding application APP was developed.The i Phone integrates various inertial sensors, the accelerometer and the magnetometer of which were used in this article. First, using the accelerometer to detect the tester’s walking, then making the corresponding integral operation to get the tester’s walking distance. Second, using the magnetometer to measure the tester’s walking direction. Next, after knowing the tester’s starting point and his walking distance and direction, the tester’s displacement can be gotten, thus the tester’s indoor position can be concluded. Finally, using the tester’s moving information and the route information deposited in advance in the i Phone to guide the tester.Without external radiation energy and auxiliary positioning equipment, inertial navigation is autonomous navigation and positioning technology. If indoor environment changes, what we only need to do is to modify the indoor map and the corresponding route data of the inertial navigation system. Therefore, based on the principle of inertial navigation, the system designed in this article completed autonomous guidance in dark environment and even reduced the cost. The i Phone’s operating system i OS is powerful, it is easy to make secondary development of application on i OS, and i OS APP is convenient and easy to use. In addition, it is worth mentioning that in the design of walking detection, this article made an acceleration threshold. The threshold not only eliminated the accelerometer’s deviation interference but also parted the total time of tester’s walking into periods of time, which reduced the time cumulative error of inertial navigation clearly.
