With the rapid expansion of data in the information era, the traditional storage system like Storage Attached Network(SAN) and Network Attached Storage(NAS)which formed with scale-up architecture is difficult to meet the application requirements of the performance and scalability of the massive data. The cluster NAS storage system which is based on the scale-out architecture, has the merit of high performance and high scalability, and come to be a efficient way to build a large scale data storage system.This paper analysis the recent cluster NAS technology, based on the existed cluster file system and open-source software, design and implement the cluster NAS system CLNASFS. It has the feature of high performance, high scalability,high available and high utilization ratio. It could be deploy in the video editing, science technology, video monitor, sharing file storage environment.CLNASFS is based on the cluster file system GlusterFS, open-source CIFS server Samba and High available suite CTDB. This system chose the non meta data server model and using the extent file attributes to manage the meta data of the system to avoid the single node failure. In this paper, we proposed type-based data placement, high available monitor module and hardware-based realtime data compression. The type-based data placement could applying in the other Key/Value storage system, and the hardware-based realtime data compression module could cooperate with the iSCSI protocol to perform like a compression block device.Finally, by compare to the origin system,we proved CLNASFS is efficient to apply in the business environment which need high throughput, high available and easy to scale.
