Along with the development of communication technology and Internet, communication methods have become more diversified. At the same time, users demand for communications also began to change dramatically, especially enterprise users. They cry for integrating various communication services, and incorporate this powerful communication capabilities into enterprise business processes. Unified communications as a new communication mode, which unified the conventional voice, data and all the communications applications from different network, can integrate our popular communication applications and services into a single platform, such as instant messaging, Vo IP, file transfer, audio/video conference, e-mail, and so on.This paper aims to design and implement an enterprise oriented unified communication client, which integrated of instant message, multimedia call, file transfer, address book, audio and video conference and other communication methods. Firstly, this paper introduced the concept and development state of unified communication. Then through the comparison of various communication protocols, gave a intense research on implement principle and mechanism of MQTT protocol. Based on the design of the client’s architecture and the characteristics of MQTT protocol, the paper designed the message topics and formats, and implemented instant message, presence, group modules. Besides, implemented the file transfer module based on HTTPS protocol, and implemented address book module based on XML file. Finally, these function modules are tested. The test results show that the design and implementation of client is fully meet the needs of enterprise users.
