The investigation and analysis of radar target electromagnetic scattering characteristics have always been one of top research contents in radio frequency simulation field. With the development and application of high definition radar technology, extraction and analysis of intense scattering source of complex target has been more and more concentrated at home and abroad. Numerical extraction for scattering center model of complex targets not only can help us to comprehend the complex electromagnetic scattering mechanism, but also plays a vital role in radar target recognition and simulation system of radar target echo. The key to researching scattering center technology lies in the effective method of obtaining the electromagnetic scattering data of targets. In this thesis, based on high-frequency electromagnetic calculation theory, the graphical electromagnetic computing is adopted to estimate the radar cross section(RCS) of electrically large target, and some high frequency algorithms, such as PO, MEC and PTD as well as their modeling process, including the key technique of complex target edge identification and model rendering have also been discussed. Afterwards, calculating examples from single frequency to broadband RCS have been demonstrated, and the application of target broadband RCS in HRRP has also been analysed. On this basis, the thesis studies focuses on the method of radar target scattering centers extraction based on the geometrical theory of diffraction(GTD) model. The state space algorithm(SSA) is employed to extract the scattering center based on 1D-GTD model, and put forward a new method to estimate the parameters of scattering type. The simulation results show that this method has good anti noise performance. In order to extend target scattering center to the two-dimensional plane, the thesis uses 2D matrix enhancement and matrix pencil method(2D-MEMP) and its modified method to achieve the scattering centers of 2D-GTD model parameter extraction. Compared to the former, paired modified method for the parameters of two-dimensional position more accurately. Finally, analyzes the application of scattering center technique in RCS data compression and fitting, instead large quantities of electromagnetic scattering data of concise scattering center parameters. Various simulation results show that the research of target characteristic modeling and extraction method based on the thesis with high precision and application value.
