Design And Implementation Of Online Bidding System For Car Licenses

Currently, metropolitan cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Hangzhou have already started auctioning car licenses via online bidding system, which runs in a way of transparence, fairness and public. It creates the fair market of car licenses, and the higher price bid will win over the lower price bid and obtain the right of owning a car license. Online Bidding System is also an effective solution to ease the burden of allocating number of new car licenses.This paper will mainly work on designing and implementing the Online Bidding System of Car Licenses, and the related auction rule will be based on Guangzhou city. We will start by analyzing the requirement of the system, and we decide to use new technologies like Mongo DB and Ruby On Rails as our development tools, and eventually we aim at building a high-availability, high-scalability and high-security online bidding system for metropolitan car licenses.This paper will dig into the document-based database Mongo DB and agile-web-tool Ruby On Rails, and work out a solution of how to apply and integrate the Mongo DB and Ruby On Rails into the online bidding system. The work will include: the design and architecture of storage in Mongo DB, recognize and learn what the Ruby On Rails is all about: ruby, MVC, components and so on; And it will also talk about what difficulties and challenges we meet during the system development, and what sorts of solutions we come up with in the end.Through running the bidding system, we will find out that the system UI is high user-friendly, both auctioneers and bidders can get used to it easily; and the system should work fast in response and safely in security. After we finish writing this paper, the system would be improved a bit, for example, to add an online payment feature and then it could be used for real.
