Study On The Publicity And Protection Of Officials’ Personal Information And Privacy On News Reports

After 18 th CPC National Congress, anti-corruption becomes one of the most popular topics in public. Then media has been devoting to reporting government officials, intended to supervise the incumbents and criticize the corrupted officials. In this context, officials’ personal information, such as families’ situation, life styles and some other privacy of officials have been exposed to public through various media channels. Moreover, personal information is also regarded as the key index for government and people to assess official’s moral characters.It is well known that some of officials’ personal information which is protected by the right of privacy should be known by the public because of their special status compared with the common people. However, current situation in China appeared improperly, which is "the parts that should be disclosed are not opened to public, while other parts that should not be opened are unsecured”, resulting media’s dilemma on officials’ reports.This paper adopts the method combined qualitative and quantitative, trying to analyze the root of the problem, in order to find the ways and methods to solve these problems to promote the perfection of the right of privacy legislation, accelerate the process of the news legislation, so as to disclose officials’ personal information rationally and truly realize the supervision of officials.
