Human gait analysis is the examination method of human walking pattern,and consists of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Based on observation methods, the qualitative analysis completes gait analysis observation tables by observing the general situation of gait such as walking pace, fluency, symmetry and offset of the body center of gravity to get the conclusion on gait; the quantitative analysis uses relevant instruments to gain objective data such as pace, stride frequency, stride length, step length, foot angle and walk cycle. Therefore, the qualitative analysis has some disadvantages like high requirements for inspection, results with certain subjectivity and simple test results, as well as the quantitative analysis has own advantages like simple operation, short examination time, accurate results and high reliability which make the quantitative analysis to be the main development trend of gait analysis method. At present the quantitative gait analysis method mainly based on video image, thus causing some problems like high requirements about equipment and space and large capital investment.According to the above, this paper researches & designes a human gait analysis system based on quantitative analysis including hardware and software to realize the measurement of the gait parameters. The hardware part mainly uses the pressure switch mode of power signal to complete collection, transmission and analysis of data; including functions such as basic information management, image preprocessing, the left foot gait recognition and parameter calculation, the software part gets the gait parameters by data processing.The main work of this paper are as follows:① to do a more in-depth analysis on the related theory and technology development of gait analysis, design the gait detection board and a matrix circuit based on the plantar pressure switch, and make a detailed analysis and design on the upper machine and lower machine nainly including the overall architecture, main function, data access layer and the storage file etc.② to do a detailed design on the communication protocol in order to improve the transmission efficiency, and design and implement the optimization algorithm for the lower computer data acquisition in order to improve disadvantages of the traditional single point signal acquisition like poor performance, low efficiency and large amount of data as well as greatly improve the transmission efficiency and sampling frequency.③ to convert the acquired data to two value image, and use image processing operations such as expansion, corrosion, erasing in the data pretreatment in order to get complete image as well as remove interference.④ on the basis of obtained image data, to design and implement automatic recognition algorithm of footprints which can ensure the accuracy of recognition, reduce the frequency of manual marking of left foot & right foot and make the system intelligent and good user experience.Finally the full text is summarized, the advantages and disadvantages of gait analyzer are given, as well as the next research direction is pointed out.
