The reliable topology structure is not only the foundation to realize some key technologies, such as routing protocols, data fusion, time synchronization and node location techniques, but also an important guarantee to prolong the network lifetime. The wireless sensor network topology control technology is mainly used to optimize the topology structure of WSN and make the energy consumption as little as possible to meet requirements of connectivity between nodes. Complex network theory is the method and rule to abstractly study the characteristics of complex networks and obtain the universal. Based on the construction algorithm of complex network models and further study the way to optimize and construct the topology of wireless sensor network which is a real complex network, have an important theoretical significance to improve the wireless sensor network node deployment and network performance.In this paper, aiming at the factors that nodes in the WSN are with limited energy and vulnerable to natural or man-made attacks, the network topology structure is optimized by the theory of complex network to increase the network lifetime and provide good survivability. The main tasks are as follows:Firstly, this paper introduces the architecture of wireless sensor networks and the meaning, classification and application of the topology control. At the same time, we describe the basic models of complex networks, analyze these models by using characteristic parameters. considering the character of topology structure, we make a summarize that the complex network feathers in the wireless sensor network from the number of the nodes, network structure, and work environment. This can provide a theoretical basis to optimize the topology structure by using complex network theory.Then, considering the wireless sensor network nodes deployed in harsh environments, vulnerable to natural or man-made factors attack, combined with the BA scale-free network has good robustness under random failure characteristics, we design the topology of wireless sensor network model based on the BA scale-free property, which can improve the survivability of the network under random attack. Theoretical analysis the degree distribution of network model and simulation the survivability on the Matlab platform, a comparative study shows that this model obeys the scale –free distribution and has better survivability.Finally, this paper introduces the growth parameter q considered the nonlinear growth of the links into the model to construct the nonlinear wireless sensor network. In the process of construction, considering the node degree, communication radius, sensor carried energy impact on network energy consumption and communication performance, we propose the wireless sensor network model with accelerated growth mechanism, and analyse and simulate the degree distribution and survivability of the improved model, simulation results show that the degree distribution of this model has scale-free characteristics, good survivability under random failures and deliberate attacks, and longer network lifetime.
