With the development of computer and Internet, cloud computing rapidly raises and is widely used in commercial fields. The monitoring and management of cloud computing involve problems of resource scheduling, task scheduling, user management and application service management, it also involves the strategies and methods to handle these problems. Therefore, cloud platform need a monitoring and management middleware to dynamically monitor and manage types of resources and tasks.This article focuses on dynamically monitoring and management technology of resources, tasks and entities based on cloud platform, and analyses the inadequacy of existing monitoring and management mechanisms works on it. In the view of inadequacy, we design and preliminary implement a distributed monitoring and management middleware(DMMM) based on Agent proxy mechanism. Paper’s main work includes: 1) We analyse architectures of some open source monitoring and management systems, on the basis of these architectures, we design DMMM from its architecture. 2) The data acquisition Agent developed by JADE platform is designed to improve the real-time and intelligence of data acquisition. 3) While dealing with data processing, we design a strategy library which includes types of processing methods, and implement kinds of data processing Agent based on JADE platform with the way of strategy injection. 4) This paper proposes a dynamic authorization method based on trust, implements the function of permission’s dynamic, trust allocation and recovery. 5) The encoding and decoding rule of data based on JSON is designed and implemented to solve the interaction problem of heterogeneous data sources.This paper preliminary implements the distributed monitoring and management middleware based on cloud platform, and preliminary deploy it on the open source cloud platform(Cloud Stack). Experimental results show that the middleware can make distributed monitoring and management effectively based on Cloud Stack.
