In order to reduce the structure vibration under the interference of the external excitation such as earthquake, strong wind etc., a lot of structural vibration control technologies at home and abroad have been developed and applied to practical engineering. The structural vibration control based on wireless sensor network (WSN) will be a developing direction in the future. Comparing with the conventional wired vibration control, it can solve the aging problems of the power cable. But WSN will generate inevitable signal time delay which can’t be ignored in the process of signal transmission, having adverse effect on the structural control effect. Research of structural control algorithm with time delay was carried out, and the control effect was simulated in this paper. The main research work includes:(1) The application field and application prospect of WSN was expounded, and the development status of WSN and its application in the field of structure monitoring and structure vibration control at home and abroad, and the research status of the time delay control at home and abroad, were introduced and analyzed specially.(2) According to the active optimal control theory with time delay considered, the time delay differential motion equations of the single degree of freedom structure-AMD control system and the multi-degree of freedom structure-AMD control system with system time delay considered were established, and the simulation analysis both were carried out. The good effect of the active optimal control theory with time delay considered was proved, and the influence law of the sizes of time delay on control effect was gained.(3) Based on the phase shift compensation control theory, the time delay differential motion equations of the single degree of freedom structure control system and the multi-degree of freedom structure control system with system time delay considered were established, and were simulated respectively with the software MATLAB. The good effect of the active optimal control theory with time delay considered was proved, and the influence law of the sizes of time delay on control effect was gained.(4) The time delay differential motion equation of the stay cable control system with time delay considered was established, and simulation was conducted by adopting the active optimal control method with system time delay considered and the phase shift compensation control method with system time delay considered respectively. The results showed that the two active control algorithms both had well effect of mitigating vibration on the vibration of the stay cable.
