A new generation of wireless communication is facing the high speed rate and the high reliability challenges with the rapid development of wireless communication technology. In order to meet the new generation of wireless communication, multi antenna, miniaturization and reconfiguration is the future of SDR(Software Defined Radio) development trend. RF front-end is the key part of wireless communication system, its performance will affect the performance of the whole communication system. And it is will be the development of wireless communication of Multi channel, miniaturization and reconfigurable RF front-end.In this paper, a wide frequency coverage, small size, reconfigurable and 2 Receiving channel 2 transmission channel RF front-end will be designed and implemented according to the future development of wireless communication system. This design uses the RF integrated chip and zero intermediate frequency structure to meet the wide frequency coverage, miniaturization and reconfigurable requirements. It can be applied to most of the current baseband processing board because of the using of standard FMC(FPGA Mezzanine Card) board structure. The concrete work is as follows:First of all, researched the development of the wireless communication system in currenly, and summarizes the structure characteristics and the key technology of the wireless communications. Introduces the basic structure and the characteristics of MIMO communication system, and analyzed the function and performance requirements of the RF front-end in MIMO communication system.Secondly, according to the requirements designed the overall design of the RF front-end board. Zero IF structure will be used after calculating and analysing the indicators of RF front-end board. The indicators of the RF front-end transmit power, gain and noise coefficient is analyzed and calculated. And the digital calibration method is designed to correct the mirror and LO leakage suppression key indicators.Finally, this part is the detail design of the RF board circuits. The transmission signal amplifier, receiver low noise amplifier and RF microstrip line is considered carefully in this part. At the same time, the layout of the components and the RF shield is fully analyzed and designed. Completed the implementation of broadband MIMO RF board, and set up a hardware platform to test the key parameters of the RF board.This paper designed and implemented a RF board, which with the characteristics of a broadband, multi-channel and modular. This RF board that contains 2 complete transmission link can be used in MIMO communication. It is of great value and significance to the development of wireless communication technology.
