Along with the development of information technology and Internet application, smart phones software and hardware level enhances unceasingly, smart phones face more information security threats under its more greatly and importantly associated data. Palmprint identification theories can provide reliable solution for smart phones information encryption. The dissertation developed a palmprint identification attendance system for smart phones under exploring the rapid and efficient palmprint identification technology. The dissertation’s main content is as the following:(1) The hand contour extraction of palmprint image based on ASM algorithm. Complex background and changeable light condition will bring a big challenge to the image preprocess, especially the hand contour extraction. The dissertation choosed the improved ASM algorithm to solve the problem, which used extracting edge information,2 d textured model construction and Graph Cut algorithm. Experiments prove that the improved ASM algorithm can segment the hand better.(2) Palmprint feature extraction based on histograms of oriented steerable filter algorithm. The algorithm combine steerable filter algorithm and HOG algorithm. First of all, the dissertation used steerable filter algorithm to organize and select the direction information, calculate the optimal direction in the direction of the amplitude, and using the HOG algorithm to calculate the characteristics of directed histogram. This method can extract the palmprint direction information warmly, which improved the palmprint identification rate effectively.(3) Designed and implemented an attendance system based on palmprint identification theories. The dissertation designed and implemented a palmprint identification system based upon Android platform, which ensure the correct status by using palmprint identification technology. Combined with smart phones time and location information, which can effectively verify whether the students arriving on classroom timely with the high-speed mobile Internet uploading verification information.
