Today, the space exploration has become a platform for countries to show their powerful technology strength. Currently, more than 5000 aircrafts such as satellites, space stations have been exceeded into the space. The CCD image sensor is very important for these vehicles. With the ShenZhou No.10 and ChangE No.1 launched into the space, the space technology in China has developed very quickly. However, due to the limitation of the semiconductor technology, the CCD technology in our country has developed very slowly and we can’t manufacture the CCD with scientific level by ourselves. Moreover, the CCD which used in the space aircraft only can be imported from abroad. And the countries abroad have strict import and export restrictions. Therefore, developing a system for CCD simulation model has great benefit for the development of the CCD technology in our country and evaluation of the properties of CCD imported from abroad. The thesis has aim at the problem described above, analyzed the theory of CCD image sensor. We established mathematical models of the CCD photodiode, MTF and transfer efficiencies. And the effect of different parameters to the model has been described. The main tasks are:1. Analysis the theory and structure of the CCD image sensor, how CCD image sensor generates and transfer the signal will be described detailed in the thesis.2. The photodiode in the CCD image sensor will be model in the MATLAB, and we will describe how different process effect the responsivity of the photodiode, the detail will be described in the chapter 2.3. The MTF of different pixel structure will be modeled in this thesis. The model of sample MTF, transmission MTF and diffusion MTF will be described. Different parameters’ effect to the model of the CCD MTF will be described detailed in chapter 3.4. In chapter 4 we will describe the main effects of the charge transfer efficiency in CCD image sensor including thermal diffusion, self-induced drift and fringing field drift. And also we will describe how different process affects the charge transfer efficiency.
